The Connecticut Department of Public Health is responsible for licensing radiologists within the state. This is a compulsory process for all those planning to practice radiology in Connecticut.
However, the very first thing to do is graduate from an accredited radiology tech program in Connecticut. The least level of study is the certificate level. All in all, in order to get a substantial position, an associate degree would be preferable.
After graduating, you have to fill in an application form and sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination. You will have to pay a certain application fee and submit original copies of your graduation documents, passport-size photos, and identification cards. The license has to be renewed every 2 years with a compulsory 24 continuing education credits.
